John Masefield

On this day in 1923 the second of a two-part series based around the work of John Masefield took place. The first event was the subject of an early BBC broadcast, combining poetry readings, critical commentary and songs. Settings of Masefield by Corder, Frederick Keel and Ireland (presumably including ‘Sea fever’) were performed, sung by the baritone Glyn Eastman.
